At approximately 2023 hours, the Setauket Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 6 Shadetree Court in Stony Brook. Units arrived to find an active fire in a boiler room in the basement of a private dwelling. With the help of the Stony Brook FD, the Port Jefferson FD and the Terryville FD, the fire was quickly extinguished and confined to the basement. There were no injuries and the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshals Office is handling the investigation.
