October 4, 1953. The new addition of the St. James firehouse was dedicated in a ceremony held this afternoon with Chief William Hall presiding. The fire commissioners, firemen, town and village officials and guests attended the occasion. The adfdfiton provides for the spacious storage of three rigs as well as a meeting room, a kitchen and a full basement, which will serve as a recreation and game area. The building was financed by the firemen of the St. James Fire Department and much of the work done on it was by the individual members. Money was raised through carnivals, shows, burning brush, cleaning up lots and other activities of the firemen.
