Hauppauge FD-Transformer fire on Old Willets Path

September 29, 2011. The Hauppauge Fire Department responds to 740 Old Willets Path in regard to a truck that took down wires and a pole, resulting in a transformer and brush fire. Crews arrived to find that a truck was being used to pick up a roll off dumpster but the operator was not paying attention and took down the wires. Firefighters extinguished the fire using foam. All units were back in service in approximately 90 minutes. There were no injuries. Photos via Greg Gottlieb.
