Kings Park FD-Dedication of firehouse addition

October 9, 1993. Fire district and Town officials gathered with the officers and members of the Kings Park Fire Department to dedicate the newly constructed wing on the firehouse. This new wing is the 4th addition to the original firehouse, which was constructed by the then private Kings Park Hook and Ladder Fire Company Inc in 1923. The addition allowed the fire department to store all of the vehicles inside and gives more room to the mechanics area. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the departmetns annual fire prevention open house. A time capsule crafted by Kings Park resident Brian O’Neill is encased in the cornerstone of the new section. Within the time capsule are newspaper clippings, departmental membership rolls, construction contracts, cover pages and a copy of the book “The History of the Kings Park Fire Department (1990). Chief of Department at the time of this dedication is Roy Starke. Some of the Commissioners at the time are Thomas Weisse, Steve Fling. Henry Stock and Russell Clark.
