Smithtown FD-Fire at Lee Myles Transmissions

October 12, 1980. Fire reported at around midnight. Fd arrives to find heavy fire throughout the building. Building is a total loss. Tom Buffa is Chief of Department at the time. Closest hydrant at the time was over 2000 feet away. Four cars within the building at the time of the fire were also destroyed. Units cleared from the scene after 0300.
