Smithtown FD-Chlorine emergency at Casa Margarita

October 13, 1990. 67 West Main Street. Rain water leaking into the basement, rotting out the bottom of a container storing chlorine, creating a vapor cloud. Employees of the restaurant remove the drum from the building, leaving it outside in the pouring rain. Main Street shut down by the fire department until the fire department could contain the product. Incident reported at 1316 hours. Incident over at 1530 hours. Charles Lauber was Chief of Department and the IC.
