November 27, 1991. Adam “Scotty” Arnott. Scotty joined the Smithtown Fire Department on Sept 12, 1944 and served actively for 47 years, before going honorary in 1991. Scotty was an officer in Fire Police in the 1960’s and served as Captain in 1967-1969. Arontt was twice awarded Fireman of the year. First in 1975 and then in 1984. In 1985, he also received the Charles F. Bruen Award.
