November 29, 1951. Smithtown and Kings Park firemen quelled a persistent blaze which caused considerable damage at the home of Arthur Edgar of Hilltop Drive late this morning. The fire is believed to have originated in the cellar, probably due to a defective heating duct. Billowing smoke which filled the house and seeped through the walls of the one-story, asbestos shingled structure necessitated the use of considerable water and fire axes. The fire was fully extinguished just before noon.
