December 2, 1953. Patrolman William Howell was passing the store and noticed a haze within. Further investigation found the store filling with smoke. FD was called and forced entry, finding a fire in a basement store room filled with cases of soda and milk. No injuries. Smithtown News 12-10-1953 also Smithtown News 12-3-1953
