December 19, 1988. 3045 Express Drive North. Fire reported at 1430 hours. Smithtown sent an engine to FD HQ. CI sends an engine and a truck to the scene and an engine to cover. This is now the site of TGI Fridays. This was a kitchen fire. Dry pipe sprinkler system failed to function properly due to defective Star Dry Pendent Sprinklers. Heavy damage to kitchen area.
