December 20, 1951. A broken neon sign caused a fire at the Main Street Service Station of Milton Seaman. Fire broke out in the NW corner of the building when the neon sign was broken during a rainstorm. The fire extended to the building and traveled across the roof . Damage was extensive but the building was saved. 12/27/51 Smithtown News.
