December 22, 1964. 880 West Jericho Turnpike. According to police, Andrew Thoma, 57, shot and killed his wife and then himself in a car in the parking lot of Chirillos Steak House/Fonetnac Motel (Now Smithtown Inn Motel) at 880 West Jericho Turnpike. Bodies were found by Anthony Catapano-a restaurant employee at approximately 0645 hours. Police rule this a murder-suicide. Couple had been seperated at the time. See article for full story.
