Nissequogue FD-House fire on Rassapeague

December 30, 2012. Fire in the Huntington House. Fire was discovered in an upstairs bedroom near a fireplace by one of the tenants, a NY City Firefighter. The house destroyed. Built in 1860. Was once the site of a winery, which produced a Rassapeague Claret that was considered a staple in the NY Wine Industry. Mutual aid from the entire township, Stony Brook and Centereach Fire Departments.
