February 6, 2013. The Setauket Fire Department is dispatched to a a report of a fire in the Sports Complex. Stony Brook Fire Marshals advised the FD that they had a deep seated fire in blocks of foam insulation that were being used for a construction project. It is believed that welders inadvertently ignited the material while working in the area. Chief William Rohr was the OIC. Mutual aid was provided by the surrounding departments and units were on scene for a few hours.
