March 12, 2013. The Selden Fire Department responds to a report of a fire at the home of one of their own. The driver of a pickup truck claims to have lost control, left the roadway and slammed into the Campo Avenue home of Lieutenant Michael Cosgrove. The truck hit the natural gas meter, igniting a fire, which extended to the house causing extensive damage. There were no injuries to any of the occupants. Selden, Centereach and Terryville firefighters operated at the scene.
