Commack FD-House fire on Oakhaven Place

March 8, 1976. Commack firemen were called to the scene of a house fire at 6 Oakhaven Place. Three firefighters on the first line in were blown out of the doorway shortly after making entry. Captain Les Goldman, Lt. Ray Kolb and Firefighter Bob Fazio suffered minor injuries in the backdraft. This is the second fire at this location. The first was four days earlier on March 4th. 1st Assistant Chief Wes Knott was the OIC. Chief Harry Glover of the Huntington Town Bureau of Fire Prevention also responded.

There were a total of 4 fires at this house.

The first fire was on March 4 and three firefighters were injured. See article on that date. Steve Silverman has photos. The third fire was on March 15th and the fourth fire was on March 16th.
