February 22, 2023. 1312 hours. The Central Islip and Lakeland Fire Departments are dispatched to a report of smoke from a garage at 215 Allwood Avenue in CI’s district. Chiefs arrive shortly thereafter and advise that they have a fire in a garage attached to a single story private dwelling. Two lines were stretched and all visible fire was knocked down by 1331 hours. All searches were complete and negative by 1335 and the fire was placed under control at 1342. Hauppauge and East Brentwood Fire Departments sent units to cover. Central Islip Hauppauge Ambulance responded to the scene. Islip Fire Marshals and Suffolk Arson are handling the investigation.
