March 6, 2023, 0849 hours. The Centereach Fire Department was alerted by one of its members of a crash involving a Sayville Community Ambulance at Middle Country Road and Stony Brook Road. Units arrived to find that a passenger vehicle struck the ambulance, which was en-route to Stony Brook hospital. Thankfully all of the injuries to the EMS crew, their patient and the civilian in the other vehicle were not life threatening. Centereach, utilized all of their ambulances as well as another Sayville Community Ambulance to transport everyone. Nesconset FD sent an ambulance but they were cancelled on arrival.
