March 14, 2023, 2116 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a house fire with occupants trapped within at 166 Oakland Avenue. Units arrive to find heavy fire within a two story dwelling with one occupant at a second story window and another trapped on the ground level waiting to be rescued. Firefighters quickly removed the victim while stretching multiple lines on the fire. All visible fire was knocked down by 1106 hours and the fire was placed under control shortly thereafter. Mutual aid provided by the East Brentwood Fire Department with an engine, Hauppauge FIre Department for a RIT, Lakeland Fire Department with a truck. The Islip Terrace and East Islip Fire Department were requessted to cover. Central Islip Hauppauge Ambulance had multiple units on scene.
