Hauppauge FD-Vehicle fire on the LIE

May 10, 2023, 1119 hours. Hauppauge Fire Department is alerted for a vehicle fire on the Long Island Expressway, westbound on the LIE between exits 56 and 57. Engine 3-8-4 and Quint 3-8-5 responded with Chief Furuno and Fire Marshal Gottlieb, finding a fully involved passenger vehicle on the shoulder one half mile east of Exit 56.
