May 21, 2023, 2214 hours. The Hauppauge Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a house fire at 16 Amber Court, which is off Townline Road. The first arriving unit, Fire Marshal Gottlieb, reported heavy smoke showing from a single family private dwelling, and Chief of Department Kenneth Furuno transmitted the working fire. Engines 3-8-4, 3-8-3, 3-8-13, and 3-8-14 responded as did Quint 3-8-5. Mutual aid was requested from the Smithtown Fire Department for an engine, Nesconset Fire Department a RIT and Central Islip Fire Department to cover. CI-Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance also responded to provide EMS assistance. The fire was declared under control by Chief Furuno at 2241. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hauppauge Fire Marshal and Islip Town Fire Marshals. Photos by Fire Marshal Gottlieb.
