January 15, 2015, 0938 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department responded to a report of a house on fire at 24 East Beech Street. Chief of Department Kevin J. McAteer Jr. was the first on scene and reported he had smoke showing. He then transmitted the working fire. Engine One was first one scene and quickly went into operation. Mutual Aid was provided by the Hauppauge Fire Department and the Islip Terrace Fire Department. Central Islip Hauppauge Community Ambulance and Suffolk County Police were also on scene.
