March 27 2014, 0945 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department responds to a report of a house fire at 132 Serpentine Lane in the Village of Islandia . Captain Michael Zaleski was first on scene and reported that there were two large sheds burning in two adjacent yards. Engine 3-7-4 was the first unit on scene and stretched a line. Chief of Department Kevin J. McAteer Jr. arrived and assumed command. Mutual aid was provided by the East Islip, Islip Terrace, Hauppauge and Brentwood Fire Departments. Central Islip Hauppauge Community Ambulance and the Suffolk County Police were also on scene. Chief McAteer released all units at 1055 hours, turning the scene over to Suffolk Arson. There were no injuries.
