Central Islip FD-House fire on Prospect Street

May 21, 2013, 0959 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 7 Prospect Street. Upon arrival, First Assistant Kevin J. McAteer Jr. reported smoke showing from a two story private dwelling and shortly after transmitted the working fire. Engine One and Engine Four arrived on scene shortly after and quickly went to work. Mutual Aid was provided by the Islip Terrace, East Brentwood, Hauppauge and East Islip Fire Departments along with the Central Islip Hauppauge Community Ambulance. One fire fighter was treated for minor injuries. All units were released by Chief of Department Edward Fruedenberg at 1133 hours. Suffolk Arson Detectives are investigating.
