January 7, 2013, 1110 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department responds to a reported structure fire at 41 East Halley Lane. Upon arrival Second Assistant Chief Robert McGee Jr. reported he had a working fire involving a vacant building. Engine Two was the first due unit on scene and quickly went into operation. Multiple Central Islip Units were on scene with Hauppauge Fire Department serving as the mutual aid department. Central Islip Hauppauge Community Ambulance was on scene and treated one firefighter for smoke inhalation. The scene was turned over to Suffolk Arson Detectives and members were released at 1226 hours.
