Central Islip FD-House fire on Third Avenue

December 8, 2008, 1008 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 33 Third Avenue. Upon arrival of first due Engine, smoke was showing and the working fire was transmitted by Assistant Chief Falco. The crew from Engine 1 back stretched a supply line to the hydrant and quickly pulled a hose line to the number 2 side of the residence. Second due engine E3 picked up the hydrant and supplied Engine 1. Truck 5 provided ventilation and secured the utilities. Firefighters contained the fire to one bedroom. All searches proved negative. The fire was put under control at 1018 hours. The Suffolk County Arson Squad was requested along with the Islip Town Fire Marshal. All units returned to service at 1104 Hours. Charles Murphy photos.
