Dix Hills FD-House fire on Corwin Court

January 18, 2020 1603 hours. Dix Hills Fire Department is activated for a structure fire at 15 Corwin Court. Units arrived to find active fire in the walls around a fireplace with extension into the attic of a 40X80 single story dwelling.. Mutual aid requested from Commack for a truck and a RIT, Huntington Manor for an engine, Deer Park, Greenlawn and Melville FDs to the scene. East Northport FD and Huntington Community First Aid Squad sent an ambulance to cover. Crews stretched and operated three hose lines. The main body of fire was knocked down at 1647 hours and the fire was placed under control at 1705 hours. All units cleared from the scene at approximately 1750 hours. The Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad is investigating.
