November 2, 2023, 0834 hours. The Commack Fire Department is called to respond to a report of a fire at Janus Elevator located at 125 Richfield Lane in the Hauppauge Industrial Park. Units arrive to find that there had been a fire in a filtration system within a welding room. The fire had already been extinguished. Firefighters opened the area up, checked for additional extension and ventilated the building. The incident was place under control at 0853 hours by Assistant Chief Ciaccio.
Fire Marshals from the Town of Smithtown are investigating.
