November 3, 2023, 0903 hours. The Hauppauge Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a fire at 160 Commerce Drive. Units arrive to find a fire in duct work for machinery for a machine that provides warm air to dry oil coatings during manufacture. The fire was on the exterior of the building and employees were using a garden hose to contain it when the FD arrived. Firefighters utilized two dry chemical extinguishers and two water cans and then completed extinguishment with a booster line.
There were no injuries and no mutuals. Fire Marshals from the Town of Smithtown are following up.
