November 3, 2023, 1519 hours. The Central Islip Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a house fire at 177A Sunflower Lane. Chief of Department Mike Zaleski was on scene within two minutes and advised of smoke pushing from the upper level of a two story private dwelling. One line was stretched in through the front door and the fire was quickly extinguished. Fire damage was confined to the kitchen. There were no injuries. The Lakeland Fire Department sent a chief and an engine to the scene. The Central Islip Fire Marshal handled the investigation.
