Commack FD-Fire in an office building on Jericho Tpke

April 4, 2019 1701 hours. The Commack Fire Department is dispatched to 2171 Jericho Turnpike for smoke in the building. Units arrived to find smoke pushing from a three story office building. FD personnel stretched lines through the main entrance while others searched and assisted in the evacuation of the occupants. Mutual aid was requested from the East Northport FD for a ladder, Kings Park FD for a ladder and an engine, The fire was located in an enclosed wall space on the front of the building and quickly extinguished. The fire area was overhauled and the building vented. Crews remained on scene for just under two hours. Fire Marshals from the Town of Smithtown Department of Public Safety are investigating. Commack Ambulance was on scene along with Greenlawn and Dix Hills EMS (Cyanide Response). There were no injuries.   At about the same time, the Brentwood Fire Department went out on a house fire on Park Avenue. That was a working fire and Commack was requested for a RIT.
