November 19, 2023, 0916 hours. The Centereach Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire on Nesconset Highway near New Moriches Road. The Lake Grove Fire Marshal was first in and advised of a fully involved Jeep on the westbound shoulder in front of Lowes. Firefighters extinguished the fire using foam due to a fuel line failure. They also extinguished a burning utility pole adjacent to the vehicle. There were no injuries. Photos by me.
