Dix Hills FD-House fire on Knox Place

February 4, 2022.0940 hours. The Dix Hills Fire Department was dispatched to 8 Knox Place in regard to a report of smoke coming from a boiler. Units arrived and determined that there was an electrical problem. Crews began opening up and found fire in the walls and ceilings. A working fire was transmitted and mutual aid was requested from Commack FD (Ladder), Deer Park FD (Ladder) and four other departments. The Melville Fire Department sent a unit to cover for the duration. Firefighters investigated similar issues in three other houses in the immediate area. PSEG was requested on a rush.
