Hauppauge FD-Fire at Yons Steakhouse

February 13, 1992. The Smithtown Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire at Yons Steak house-880 West Jericho Turnpike. This location is in the Hauppauge Fire District but was not dispatched properly. Units arrive to find a fire in the kitchen. This restaurant was Chirillo’s Steakhouse prior to being Yon’s. The restaurant was attached to the west side of the Townhouse Motor Lodge. It was torn down and never rebuilt. The building that it was attached to burned to the ground on January 12, 2003, resulting in the death of an adult female occupant. That building was rebuilt.
