November 20, 2018 1022 hours. The Commack Fire Department was dispatched with CVAC, SCPD and the NYS Police to a traffic collision on the Northern State Parkway. Units arrived to find the a single vehicle had left the roadway, stoking a number of signs and a pole, overturned, landing upside down between the guardrail and the inside wall of the New Highway overpass. The lone occupant was ejected and was pronounced dead a the hospital. The westbound Northern State Parkway was closed for a few hours for the State Police investigation.
