August 23, 2018 Shortly after 2200 hours, the Northport Fire Department responds to a structure fire at 4 Green Knoll Court. 1st Asst. Chief Dennis Sheridan was first on scene and transmitted a working fire with visible flames showing throughout the structure. All occupants had self evacuated. Engine 298, Engine 296 and Ladder 297 initiated an aggressive interior attack. Mutual aid to the scene was received from Kings Park FD and East Northport FD. Centerport FD and Eaton’s Neck FD provided Engine and EMS coverage at Northport’s headquarters. Approximately 60 firefighters were on scene and had the bulk of the fire under control in twenty minutes. There were no reported injuries.
