July 20, 2018 1708 hours. St. James Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a truck fire on Lt. John Olsen Lane off Moriches Road.Assistant Chief John Gonzales was first in and advised that he had a burning pickup truck with unknown chemicals within. Chief of Department Ryan Davis arrived along with two engines. Crews attacked the fire first with straight water and then with foam due to the unknown chemicals and  burning gasoline, which was all running down the street and into two storm drains on the corner of Moriches Road.  The fire was extinguished and the incident was placed under control at approximately 1733 hours.  The Town of Smithtown Fire Marshals Office was requested to the scene to handle the haz-mat issue.
