June 18, 2018 The Lakeland Fire Department is dispatched to a report of a house on fire at 14 May Court off Johnson Avenue. Units arrived to find an active fire in the basement of a single story ranch. Firefighters located and removed one subject from the building. The victim, a 60 year old male, was transported but did not survive. Three lines were stretched and operated. The fire was placed under control at approximately 1555 hours. Mutual aid provided by Ronkonkoma, East Brentwood, Medic 45, Sayville, Farmingville, Bohemia, Holbrook, Nesconset, Hauppauge and Central Islip Fire Departments.
