May 3, 2018 0957 hours. The Hauppauge Fire Department is dispatched to a vehicle fire on the westbound side of the LIE between exits 57 and 56. Crews arrived to find an involved auto on the shoulder. AFFF and multiple dry chemical extinguishers were needed to extinguish the stubborn blaze. 3840 photo.
