April 5, 2002 Suffolk Police state that forty five year old Charles Israelian of Lake Grove was arrested and charged with scheming to defraud and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree. Police discovered that he was soliciting moeny from Shoprite patrons in Lake Grove for a fictitious Smithtown firefighter who died in the world trade center. Police said that Israelian then spent the money on crack. Police said that over the course of 3 weeks, he preyed on over 150 victims.
