The Smithtown Fire Department was called to respond to a report of a house fire at 8 Steven Place. Arriving units encountered heavy fire venting out the attic of a large two-story colonial. Crews stretched lines on the fire and began their VES, while mutual aid was requested from the Hauppauge Fire Department for a RIT and from the Nesconset Fire Department for an engine to the scene.The fire was quickly extinguished without incident or injury.
