Port Jefferson FD-House fire on Village Woods Road

June 27, 2016 0437 hours. The Port Jefferson Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Village Woods Road off East Broadway. Responding Chiefs were advised that 911 was taking multiple calls reporting an active fire. 2nd Assistant Chief Todd Stumpf was first to arrive and advised of a working fire in a single story private dwelling. Mutual aid was requested from the Terryville, Coram and Mount Sinai Fire Departments to the scene and for the Setauket Fire Department to send an engine to cover to Port Jefferson FD. Port Jefferson Ambulance also responded to the scene. The fire was placed under control within an hour and all firefighters were cleared from the scene by 0615 hours. There were no injuries and the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshals are investigating.
