Hauppauge FD-Fire at the Hebrew Academy

April 20, 1972 Fire was set on the 83rd birthday of Adolph Hitler. FD units arrived to find fire venting from the building. Fire started in a classroom on the ground level. It took approximately an hour to bring under control and there was a partial collapse.
This fire, as well as the two Smithtown Lumber Yard Fires, were arsons and were allegedly set by Hauppauge Firefighter John Martin Eagan Jr.
