Holtsville FD-house Fire on 13th Ave

January 27, 2020. 0935 hours Firefighters responded to a house fire at 136 13th Avenue off Masonic. Crews arrived to find a fast moving fire that had already engulfed a vehicle and a garage that was attached to the home. Assistance was brought in from the Medford, North Patchogue & Farmingville Fire Departments. Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control within 30 minutes. The radiant heat from the fire melted the siding to the home next door. Both occupants of the house were transported to a nearby hospital for injuries. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation by Fire Marshals from the Town of Brookhaven and Suffolk County Police Arson detectives. Centereach and Ronkonkoma Fire Departments sent units to cover for Holtsville for the duration of the alarm.
