Smithtown FD-Report of a dog through the ice in Blydenburgh Park

February 17, 2022 1359 hours. The Smithtown Fire Department is dispatched to Blydenburgh Park in regard to a report of a dog that fell through the ice and onto the lake, with the female owner attempting to get the dog out. Crews from Smithtown, assisted by the Nesconset Fire Department and a Suffolk police helicopter searched the area and located the female and her dog on one of the trails. Neither was injured so all units cleared from the scene.
