June 26, 1923 Smith outbuilding burns and later F.G. Booth’s home burns on Landing Avenue. F.G. Booth also had a lumber mill. Referenced in the Smithtown FD 100th Anniversary book. Also referenced in the “History of the Smithtown Fire Department 1956” as follows: We called in the St. James and Stony Brook Departments to help try to save the Smith out building and then had to call them again only four hours later when lightning struck F.G. Booths home on landing Avenue.
