June 29th 2003 31 Rumford Road. Two story ranch gutted. Occupants were away on vacation. Fire reportedly a result of an electrical issue. James Ruggerio was Chief of Department and OIC. Fire reported at approximately 1300 hours. Mutual aid from Commack, Smithtown, St. James, Nissequogue, Northport and East Northport Fire Departments. One firefighter transported for heat exhaustion.
