July 7, 1974 The Donald C. Munro American Legion Post, Kings Park, honored local firemen for “extra service” to their community. Hugh Smith received Fireman of the Year while Smithtown Councilman Robert A. brady was recognized for his 50 years of service as a member of the department. The post also presented a plaque in memory of Fire Chief Edward Mankuski, who died earlier this year in a car crash.
