Kings Park FD-Fire in building 124 at the KPPC

July 10, 1994. Fire reportedly started in the attic of building 124. Kings Park, Commack, East Northport, Smithtown and Nesconset FD’s operated. 6 firefighters were treated for dehydration and exhaustion. Commack Ambulance was also on scene. Roy Starke was Chief and OIC and was first due. There was no electricity and no utilities to the building. Fire was reported at 0418 hours and was placed under control at 0849. The building was completely destroyed. Nesconset FD was called for their five inch hose. Towers from Kings Park, Commack, Smithtown, and Nesconset operated.

At the time of the fire, the building was 76 years old. This was a two story 450 foot long brick building. Art the time of the fire, the building had been vacant for approximately 25 years.
