Kings Park FD-USAR Team activated to search for missing 15 year old

July 16, 2022. The NYS Park Police were notified of a missing 15 year old that wandered away from a local day camp and was believed to be within Sunken Meadow State Park. A search commenced with officers from the PPD, NYS PD, Smithtown Park Rangers and Suffolk Police officers on foot and in a helicopter. The Kings Park Fire Department was then activated and requested a response from the Suffolk County USAR team due to the large area to be search. Crews searched the Park until approximately 2330 hours with negative results. The investigation continues.
